SIGNS & MIRACLES - Ohio boy believes angels are watching

Four-year-old Caleb Elkins of Mansfield, Ohio, USA, is believed to have been visited by angels while receiving care in hospital. In July 2003, Caleb was playing at his family home when he fell and suffered a serious head injury. Hospital tests revealed bleeding in his brain, and during the subsequent surgery a damaged artery was repaired and a metal plate placed in Caleb's head.

The next day, a surgical nurse, Linda Carder, told Caleb's mother that she had felt an encampment of angels around the room during the boy's operation. "I have a policy where I pray for my patients," said Carder. "Maybe not necessarily with them or out loud, but in my care of them."

After her shift ended, Carder found something unusual had happened at home with her husband who is associate pastor at a local church. "During
the middle of the night, my husband had been awakened and felt an urgency to pray specifically for me, which is definitely out of the ordinary," said
Carder.

Angels have been near Caleb before, says his mother, Brenda Ferguson. Before the accident, the young boy told her he had the same dream several
times: he saw Jesus coming down to him, then going back to heaven, and blue-eyed angels hovering over him, brushing against his head and tickling
his ears with their wings. "He comes up to me all the time and says: 'I am a present from Jesus to you, Mommy.' He talks about Jesus a lot and heaven
and about how much Jesus loves him."
